Christian McCullen
Christian McCullen, of Wilmington, North Carolina was raised in surroundings full of music and dance. It was only natural that at the young age of 11 years old he began Swing dancing. In between the ages of 11 and 16 Christian spent time learning East coast, West Coast swing and Hustle. By the age of 16 years old Christian began to focus in on Swing dancing and perfected his Swing dancing technique for the next three years.
It was not until Christian was 19 years old that he discovered his passion for the Latin dances. After first learning On1 Salsa, Christian went on to teach Salsa in the Wilmington area. With nearly 5 years of On1 Salsa experience Christian was introduced to dancing On2. Living in North Carolina enabled him to travel and learn many styles of Salsa while still maintaining a strong level of creativity and uniqueness within his own style of dance.
In 2006 Christian traveled to Argentina to study another passion of his, Argentine Tango. With 2 weeks of intense training he went back to Wilmington, NC and began to contribute to the growing Argentine Tango scene in the area. By 2007 he began teaching beginner Argentine Tango and traveling to various congresses and workshops to continue expanding his knowledge in Latin dancing. The year 2009 brought Christian back to Buenos Aires, Argentina for 2 months of extreme Argentine Tango training amongst some of the world’s greatest instructors.
Christians love and passion for music as a whole has taken him even outside of the world of dancing. From 2002- 2004 he played bass guitar for a band that successfully touring the entire East Coast. Christian enjoys devoting time to teaching young children the art of dancing and music appreciation. A major part of Christians teaching style is to incorporate all aspects of the music that you are dancing to into each and every movement. Musicality is something he incorporates into all of his classes and workshops.
Traveling all over the country and world as an instructor, along side of being Owner of Dance Social Entertainment Company in San Diego, California, has really given Christian the opportunity to fulfill his passion of growing as a dancer and spreading the knowledge he has obtained to other dance enthusiasts.

I’ve had Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy since 2002, a nerve disorder that causes limited mobility and severe, constant pain. I’d boxed up my tap shoes & thought I’d never dance again. Larisa Hall @ Tap Fever worked w/me to start tapping again. She was helpful & patient!
