ANNUAL PERFORMANCES & EVENTS

Tap Fever cares about the San Diego and La Jolla communities and tries to support it the best way we know how!  Every penny that is raised through every Tap Fever event goes directly towards dance scholarships and our programs for people with disabilities.  Performing is how TAP FEVER STUDIOS shares the joy of dance with family, friends, and neighbors!

ALL students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in these events, but it is not required.
Tap Fever’s events occur towards the end of EACH session:

1. APRIL: This is when we hold our annual recital. We order costumes and perform on a professional stage! All students will have the opportunity to participate.
2. AUGUST: Tap Fever go out into the community to perform at a variety of events. In the past we have performed at Children’s Hospital, Children’s Museum, and the Celebrate Dance Festival in Balboa Park. Participation will be based on availability.
3. DECEMBER: Aside from our many holiday performances around town & in parades, Tap Fever also hosts an open house with entertainment on the sidewalk in front of the studio. Students Perform their dances to holiday music while our guests enjoy eggnog, cider, and cookies!

OTHER PERFORMANCES: In addition to our set of annual shows, Tap Fever may periodically perform at a variety of other local events/festivities, and even at the New Children’s Museum in downtown San Diego!
We will keep you apprised of these additional performance opportunities as they arise.

DANCE COMPETITIONS: Each year, select groups from Tap Fever Studios will participate in a local dance competition. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to see other wonderful dancers from all over Southern California performing at the top of their game. The “ SPOTLIGHT COMPETITION ”, among others, comes through San Diego annually. Students entered in dance competitions will be able to compete against other dancers for dance trophies and prizes!

The specific participation in this event will be left to the discretion of each individual instructor. The competitions we enter will offers categories for all ages and all styles of dance. The Regional portion of the competitions we choose will be held locally, and the Nationals (if invited) will be no further than Anaheim. As new opportunities arise from year to year, we may enter different competitions each year.
