This summer, dabble in the many disciplines of the arts! Our Triple Threat Arts Camp is designed to give you a taste of dancing, music, theatre, and studio art, in a small group setting where you will receive personalized attention and can build friendships with other students. This camp can accommodate different ability levels, whether you are a beginner, or have taken classes before.
What is a TRIPLE THREAT?? In the musical theater business, there are different types of performers. Those who are most sought after are known as a “Triple Threat,” meaning that they can sing, act and dance all at a professional level. These types of performers are much more desirable to a casting director because they can fill many different roles within a production. Our camp gets you started on your path to become a performer, whether that is a dancer, an artist, a musician, an actor, or all of the above!
Camp Descriptions: camps will be broken up into hour long classes in each of the following disciplines each day, plus a lunch break. Please pack a cold lunch everyday.
1) Music: we will rock ‘n roll your socks off with exposure to music from a variety of genres and time periods! This class is designed to bring out the musician in you, whether you are just a beginner or have been taking lessons/classes previously. We will cover a variety of topics, including singing, show tunes, vocal techniques, exercises, instruments, theory, melody, rhythm, history, composition, and listening skills.
2) Theater: this portion of the camp should prove to be quite comical! Kids will learn how to put together a short script, act out skits, and practice improvisation. We will work towards a group comedy scene that the kids will write and act out themselves!
3) Art: hone your creative visual skills by learning about the principles and elements of design. We will practice fine art techniques through drawing, painting, clay work, collage, multi-media projects, and more. Students will be encouraged to express themselves through choosing projects within a broader theme.
4) Dance: each week of camp will cover a variety of dance styles, but will focus on a short tap dance. For beginners or kids with previous dance experience; each camp-goer will be given their chance to shine! Tap shoes can are available for use during camp, but we can recommend a place to purchase tap shoes for under $20. This will be a more beneficial way to go since we will have an art day where we decorate our tap shoes!
Age Groups: 4-8, and 9-13. Maximum 8 kids per age group, per camp, register early to reserve a spot!
Session 1: June 28 – July 2, 9:00am-3:00pm
Session 2: July 12 – 16, 9:00am-3:00pm
Session 3: July 26 – 30, 9:00am-3:00pm
Session 4: August 9 – 13, 9:00am-3:00pm
• Camps are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
• Additional camp sessions may be added if the above dates fill in advance.
• All camps are from 9:00am to 3:00pm, and include all four classes plus a lunch break.
• Camp material will vary from week to week, so that students hoping to attend camp multiple weeks are welcome to do so.
Cost: $340 per week, per student.
What to bring: lunch, a water bottle, wear clothes you can get messy in, and a smile!
Keepsake DVD: Don’t forget to purchase a Triple Threat Keepsake DVD! You’ll get to keep a copy of your camp experiences forever! We will photograph the kids while they play and learn, so parents can see what the kids are up to all week, and kids can look back on all the fun memories they made this summer. DVDs cost $15 each.
