“Ode To Dance Teachers”

When a little girl or boy starts out dancing at the age of 3 or 4, they will never know the impact that dance teachers will have on their life. From the first day of class, the instructor with teach discipline, art, motor skills, and a fun way of learning. As the teacher/student relationship grows over time, there is a much greater bond…a bond that nurtures and develops an artistic dancer and person.

Even though I am heading into my thirties, I am close still with my very first dance teacher, “Miss Sherry”. So close that she attended my bridal shower and has not missed sending a card on my birthday or Christmas. It’s these bonds shaped and developed in the name of dance, that has impacted my life so much more than dance alone. Miss Sherry, thank you for teaching me my first tondu and inspiring who I am today!
